The Directorate General of Passports has introduced a new integrated monitoring system aimed at improving the processing, printing and delivery of Pakistani passports, according to an official statement issued on Monday.

Under the directives of the Director General of Passports, a dedicated 24/7 monitoring room has been established at the department’s headquarters. The facility is equipped with a digital, integrated dashboard that will be used to monitor and evaluate daily operational activities across passport offices nationwide.

The statement said the newly launched system will enable real-time monitoring of passport applications and deliveries. From the submission of an application to the final delivery of the passport, each stage of the process will now be tracked to ensure efficiency and transparency.

Officials said the system will also allow for the automatic identification of overcrowding at passport offices. In addition, staff performance and the passport printing process will be continuously monitored through the advanced system.

According to the department, the monitoring framework also includes a network management system that will track application backlogs as well as the operational status of machinery used in passport printing and processing.
