PESHAWAR – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan announced on Thursday that the party will stage peaceful protests across the country on August 5, clarifying that there is no plan to hold a protest in Islamabad on that day.

Speaking to reporters in Peshawar, Barrister Gohar emphasized that all PTI candidates who contested the recent Senate elections were nominated by the party’s founder, Imran Khan.

He condemned the ongoing legal and political pressure being placed on PTI leaders, calling it a targeted attempt to silence the party.

“There is a sword hanging over the heads of our 39 parliamentarians. Two of our MNAs and one senator have already been convicted,” he said.

Referring to pending cases related to the October 4 incidents, the PTI chairman reiterated the party’s demand for justice. “We want those responsible to be held accountable through a transparent and impartial investigation,” he stated.

Despite mounting challenges, Barrister Gohar expressed confidence in the party’s resilience, stating, “PTI will endure this pressure.”

Commenting on the recent Senate polls, he confirmed that Murad Saeed had emerged victorious and said that it is now up to him to decide his future course of action.

Gohar also noted that while he was not present during the polling in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, no reports of irregularities or suspicious activity had surfaced.
