A total of 3,010 individuals stranded due to heavy snowfall have been safely rescued in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Rescue officials reported that over the past three days, 942 vehicles trapped in snow were recovered, restoring traffic flow, and hundreds of affected individuals were provided with immediate medical assistance on site.

According to rescue authorities, 60 major roads and highways across the province were cleared using heavy machinery. A total of 535 personnel and 190 vehicles participated in the rescue operations.

Furthermore, 32 temporary rescue points have been established in districts affected by the snowfall to support ongoing relief efforts.

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi, stated that heavy snowfall has severely affected Tirah Valley in the Khyber district, leaving several individuals stranded who are currently being rescued.

Speaking to Geo News, Chief Minister Afridi said he is personally overseeing the ongoing rescue operations in the valley.

He added that the relief efforts are facing challenges, with authorities using heavy machinery to clear the roads.

The Chief Minister also confirmed that trucks carrying food and other essential supplies have been dispatched to Tirah.
