Several Muslim countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, have rejected remarks made by the US Ambassador stationed in Israel.

In a joint statement, foreign ministers from these countries, along with representatives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Arab League, and Gulf Cooperation Council, described the ambassador’s comments as irresponsible and in violation of international law.

The statement emphasised that such remarks could pose a threat to peace and stability in the region. It noted that the ambassador’s statement directly contradicts the vision presented by US President Donald Trump and comprehensive plans aimed at resolving the Gaza conflict.

The joint communiqué further affirmed that Israel holds no legitimate authority over the occupied Palestinian and Arab territories.

The controversy arose after US Ambassador Mike Huckabee, posted in Israel, stated that it would be acceptable for Israel to control areas stretching from the Nile to the Euphrates.

The “Nile to Euphrates” concept refers to a geographical term associated with the Greater Israel ideology, which envisions a region extending from Lebanon to the deserts of Saudi Arabia, and from the Mediterranean Sea to the Euphrates in Iraq.
