The Pakistan Army on Tuesday carried out a successful test launch of the newly inducted Fatah-4 cruise missile, which has a strike range of 750 kilometres.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) described the missile as a major addition to the Army Rocket Force Command. “Equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids, this weapon system is capable of evading enemy missile defence due to its terrain-hugging flight profile and can engage targets with high precision,” the militry's media wing said.
It added that the introduction of Fatah-4 would “further enhance the reach, lethality and survivability of Pakistan Army’s conventional missile systems.”
The launch was attended by the chief of general staff, senior military officials, as well as teams of scientists and engineers involved in the project.

Following the test, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza and the services chiefs congratulated the troops and experts for the achievement.
A statement from the Presidency hailed the test as a landmark in Pakistan’s defence preparedness. “The successful test of Fatah-4 missile is a milestone in Pakistan’s defense system,” it read. President Zardari was quoted as saying the indigenously developed system was “proof of Pakistan’s scientific self-reliance.”
He added that the missile would further reinforce the country’s defence capabilities. “The nation is proud of the hard work and determination of its scientists and engineers,” the president said, stressing that Pakistan’s defence “is and will remain impregnable.”
