The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has launched a 24/7 transport facility for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
The service, involving 300 luxury buses, will transport pilgrims directly from their hotels to the Grand Mosque in Makkah, the ministry said.
“The government has hired 300 luxury buses to transport pilgrims from their residences directly to the Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia,” the ministry said in a statement.
“The bus service is available around the clock in order to provide pilgrims with the flexibility to travel at their convenience.”
The Pakistani government has constructed bus stops at four entry points around the Grand Mosque to "ensure efficient and organised transportation".
The pick-and-drop locations are designated to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and minimise any congestion in the area.
“The government has assigned guides to assist pilgrims throughout their journey to further enhance the travel experience,” the statement added.
“These guides help pilgrims travel through their designated routes, ensuring that they reach their destination without any difficulties.”
Over 42,000 Pakistani pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia, as of now, to perform the sacred pilgrimage this year.
