Pakistan’s passport has once again been placed among the lowest-ranked travel documents globally, according to the latest Henley Passport Index released for the first half of 2026.
The ranking, which covers the period from January to June 2026, places Pakistan at 98th position.
As per the index compiled by Henley & Partners, Pakistani passport holders can travel to 31 countries without obtaining a visa in advance, highlighting the limited international mobility available to Pakistani citizens.
In contrast, Singapore has been ranked as the world’s most powerful passport, offering visa-free access to 192 destinations.
Japan and South Korea jointly occupy second place, with their citizens able to travel visa-free to 188 countries.
Several European nations share the third position in the global ranking. Passports from Denmark, Luxembourg, Sweden, Spain, and Switzerland provide visa-free access to 186 destinations, placing them among the strongest travel documents worldwide.
The latest index once again underscores the significant gap in global travel freedom between Pakistan and many countries in Asia and Europe, reflecting ongoing challenges related to diplomatic reach and international mobility.
