Nationwide rallies and demonstrations will be held today (Friday) to mark Youm Al-Quds in solidarity with Palestinians and to condemn Israel’s atrocities and oppression.

The protest aims to raise voices for Palestinian freedom and will begin after Friday prayers.

In Karachi, the main rally will be organised by the Imamia Students Organisation in collaboration with the religio-political party Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM). The rally will proceed from Numaish Chowrangi to Tibet Centre on MA Jinnah Road.

Participants will begin gathering for the rally shortly after Jumma prayers at 3 pm. To ensure smooth traffic flow, authorities have devised a traffic management plan to minimise inconvenience to commuters.

The plan directed the commuters to choose an alternative route instead of MA Jinnah Road. Those coming from Teen Hatti or Lasbela can go to the Soldier Bazaar on the right from Guru Mandir.

Traffic going from Preddy Street Regal to Tibet Center will be diverted to Predy Chowk and from Saddar Dawakhana to People’s Chowrangi.

Traffic police added that traffic from Anklesaria Hospital and the Coast Guard will be rerouted to Soldier Bazaar or Nishtar Road.

Traffic from Dawood Pota Road and Lucky Star will be redirected to Preedy Chowk.

Vehicles on the right side of the road will be diverted from Saddar Dawakhana to PPP Chowrangi.
