Pakistani-origin businessman Muhammad Ashiq Hussain, whose factory manufactured the main door of the Holy Kaaba, the Meezab-e-Rahmat (water spout projecting from the roof of the sacred building), and the silver shell of the Black Stone, has passed away.
Consul General Khalid Majeed and the Pakistani community expressed their condolences over the demise of Muhammad Ashiq Hussain.
Ashiq was a prominent businessman in Saudi Arabia, who owned the largest gold factory in the Kingdom.
According to Daily Jang, Muhammad Ashiq said, in an interview, that the Saudi government initially tasked a Lebanese company with creating the silver shell of the Hajr-e-Aswad and the main gate of the Holy Kaaba.
Through this company, he was entrusted with the privilege of manufacturing the main door of the most sacred site for Muslims, which was designed by a Lebanese firm.
He revealed that he crafted the gate with great dedication, using two hundred kilograms of gold.
Ashiq Hussain mentioned that he had the honour of installing the main door of the Holy Kaaba with his own hands. He also revealed that his team designed and installed the silver shell of the Hajr-e-Aswad.
When the Saudi government offered to pay for his services, he requested the soil of the Holy Kaaba as a blessing, which had been collected during the installation of the door and the Black Stone.
The Saudi government granted him this soil as a blessing.
