Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has predicted that the moon for the month of Zil Hajj is expected to be sighted on June 7 (Friday) in the country.

According to the prediction by the Met office, the first day of Eid-ul-Adha is expected to fall on June 17 in Pakistan.

If the moon sighting aligns with predictions, the Eid-ul-Adha holidays in Pakistan will commence from Monday to Wednesday.

Eid holidays in the country begin a day prior to the festivities to observe Arafat Day, which marks the ninth day of Hajj. This year, Arafat Day is expected to fall on Sunday in Pakistan.

As Saturday and Sunday are already observed as days off in government and private offices, Pakistanis are expected to enjoy a five-day Eid-ul-Adha holiday this year.

However, the government will make a final announcement regarding the holidays after the official moon sighting for Zil Hajj.
