PTI President Parvez Elahi suffers fracture after falling in jail washroom

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Parvez Elahi has suffered a bone fracture after falling in the washroom of Adaila jail, where the former Punjab CM is incarcerated.

The jail authorities informed the court about the incident today (Tuesday) during a hearing of the illegal recruitment in the Punjab Assembly case.

The Deputy Superintendent Rawalpindi Jail presented Parvez Elahi's medical report to Lahore Anti-Corruption Court Judge Arshad Hussain Bhatta.

The top jail cop said in court that Elahi had fallen in the washroom on March 17, resulting in a fracture.

Later, the court did not charge the accused due to incomplete attendance and summoned him for the next hearing on April 4.

Notably, Elahi had announced to participate in upcoming by-polls on April 21. He will be contesting for the PP-32 seat in Gujrat, which became vacant after Chaudhry Salik Hussain was elected member National Assembly.
