The Peshawar deputy commissioner has imposed a 30-day ban on the flying of drones and quadcopters in the provincial capital due to prevailing security concerns, according to a notification issued Monday.
The order, enforced under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, aims to preserve peace and prevent potential panic or unrest.
The notification cited the need to safeguard critical infrastructure, prevent unauthorized surveillance, and mitigate the risk of aerial delivery of harmful materials.
Violators of the ban will face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, the notification warned.
Meanwhile, funeral prayers for two police personnel killed in a suicide attack on Sunday night were held in their respective native villages.
