Pakistan International Airlines has dismissed the ongoing claim on social media that the entire crew went missing in Toronto during transit.

The airline said that these claims were being made to damage the reputation of the airline and of Pakistan.

On Sunday, the airline said that a misleading tweet about the crew members was made by some “anti-Pakistan quarters”. They further claimed that all crew members are reported safe and sound.

The airline also urged the public not to share and believe reports unless verified by the airline’s official channel of communication.

Furthermore, the airline also mentioned that even though the recent news circulating is false, there have been individual cases in the past where crew members did not report for return flights from Canada, leading to internal inquiries.

One such case came out in November where a flight attendant did not board on the return flight from Toronto, blaming ill-health, and investigation is underway.

Such disappearances have been reported over the years during transits in Canada, but they do not involve the entire flight crews, and PIA has taken steps to investigate such incidents and take appropriate action to avoid similar cases in future.
