PM announces Rs10m reward for each Pakistan Under-19 player after Asia Cup triumph

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday announced a cash reward of Rs10 million for each player of the Pakistan Under-19 team following their victory over India in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025.

A luncheon was hosted at the Prime Minister’s House in honour of the victorious team and management, a day after Pakistan thrashed arch-rivals India by a commanding margin of 191 runs in the final in Dubai to clinch the Asian title for the second time.

The event was attended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, members of the Under-19 squad, mentor Sarfaraz Ahmed and team management officials.

Addressing the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded opener Sameer Minhas for his outstanding performance in the final and said the Pakistan Under-19 team had made the entire nation proud.

He said that defeating India by such a huge margin in a final was a clear reflection of the players’ hard work and dedication. The prime minister congratulated Mohsin Naqvi, the team management, players and support staff on the historic achievement.

On the occasion, PM Shehbaz announced a reward of Rs10 million for each player of the national Under-19 team that defeated India in the Asia Cup final.
