PM Shehbaz arrives Karachi for one-day visit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on a one-day visit, where he was warmly welcomed by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, and other top government officials.

The prime minister's visit is aimed at boosting the confidence of the business community. During his trip, he will visit the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

He will also inaugurate the automated customs clearance system of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) at the Karachi Port Trust.

PM Shehbaz will also meet with political leaders in Karachi, including Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders, and attend an event at Aga Khan University as the chief guest.

Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Minister of State Ali Pervez Malik accompanied the prime minister on his visit.

This is the Prime Minister's second visit to Karachi since assuming office.

The visit came amid growing concerns from coalition partners regarding the PML-N-led government for not consulting their allied parties when making key decisions, including the establishment of the Pakistan Maritime and Seaport Authority.
