Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where the military leadership gave him a detailed briefing on the evolving situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
During the visit, the Prime Minister said a policy of zero tolerance would be adopted towards what he described as collusion between “Fitna al-Khawarij” and the Afghan Taliban regime, as well as any subversive activities against Pakistan.
Mr Sharif termed actions by the Afghan Taliban regime and militant elements against Pakistan as unacceptable.
He said that under the leadership of Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the country and are capable of responding to any aggression.
The Prime Minister praised the armed forces for repelling attacks in border areas and commended their professional capabilities in carrying out what he called an effective and robust response.
He added that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
