PMD predicts rainfall in Karachi today

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted rain accompanied by thunderstorm in Karachi today, as a western weather system moves across parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, the city is expected to experience light to moderate rain along with winds and possible dust-raising conditions during the evening and night hours. The system is part of a western weather system in the southern part of Pakistan is likely to persist for the next 18 to 24 hours.
PMD said rainfall is also predicted in Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Larkana, Jacobabad and Khairpur.
Moreover, the temperatures in Karachi are expected to remain at least 17°C and maximum 30°C over the next two days, reflecting relatively mild winter conditions for mid-February.
Deputy director of PMD, Anjum Nazir Zaighum said showers are likely to happen in the afternoon hours, possibly between 2pm and 3pm, depending on how quickly the system develops over the region.
Furthermore, the PMD has noted a shallow westerly wave approaching western Pakistan. The department claimed that this system can bring rain-wind and thunderstorm in parts of Sindh, including Karachi, beginning from February 17.
