PML-N MPA proposes Nawaz Sharif’s picture on Rs5,000 currency note

PML-N MPA Calls for Nawaz Sharif’s Image on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member of the Punjab Assembly, Arshad Malik, has demanded that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s image be included on the Rs5,000 currency note.

Speaking during a session of the Punjab Assembly, the lawmaker said that Nawaz Sharif’s portrait should be featured alongside that of Quaid-e-Azam on the high-denomination note.

He stated that it was Nawaz Sharif who led the country towards development, crediting him with putting Pakistan on a path of progress.

He added that while Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah created Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif made the country a nuclear power.
