Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) stated tha the Western politicians and commentators calling for the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan are proponents of Israel.
On its official X account, PML-N reposted a post by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which highlighted supportive statements made by several US Congress members who have voiced opposition to Khan’s detention.
Imran Khan, currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, is facing multiple charges of corruption and inciting violence.
PTI's post on X read, “More and more global voices are being raised for the release of Imran Khan, who is in arbitrary and politically motivated detention in false and fabricated cases. Influential voices around the world are saying: FREE IMRAN KHAN!”
In response, PML-N said, “They all have one thing in common: they are pro-Israel and want their asset, Khan, to be saved.”
PML-N has frequently accused Khan and his party of seeking foreign support for their political interests, paritcularly from pro-Israel entities.
These accusations gained traction following statements from several global personalities and Western politicians, who expressed displeasure over the removal of Khan’s government and his subsequent imprisonment.
The US House of Representatives passed a resolution calling for Khan’s release, while the UK Parliament held a hearing on his detention.
Imran Khan's former brother-in-law, a known proponent of Israel, also expressed support for him, leading Khan’s opponents to accuse him of having ties with Zionist lobbies.
In September, an article by an Israeli news website suggested that Khan could play a crucial role in changing Pakistan’s public perception regarding the normalisation of ties with Israel.
However, the PTI founder has categorically denied these allegations and has consistently condemned Israeli war crimes in Gaza.
