ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has granted conditional approval to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for holding a public rally on June 8 in Rawat.
The deputy commissioner issued a notification outlining this approval, which includes 39 specific conditions. According to the notification, PTI is allowed to conduct the rally on June 8 in Rawat from 4 pm to 7 pm.
The conditions stipulate that no roads should be blocked during the rally, and carrying weapons or sticks is strictly forbidden. The rally must not turn into a sit-in, and PTI is responsible for its internal security. Additionally, any slogans against religion, the state, or Pakistan are strictly prohibited.
Previously, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard a contempt of court case regarding the refusal to allow PTI to hold a rally in the federal capital. During the hearing, the district administration informed the court that the Deputy Commissioner's Office had permitted PTI to hold a rally on Rawat GT Road.
The court advised PTI representatives that they could challenge the district administration's decision by filing a new application.
PTI’s lawyer, Shoaib Shaheen, indicated that he plans to challenge the decision to allow the rally in Rawat.
