PTV mistakenly reports Quaid-e-Azam's birth as death anniversary

The nation celebrated the 147th birthday of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah today, however, Pakistan Television Anchor turned the birthday into a death anniversary.

In a video shared by renowned journalist Hamid Mir, PTV anchor can be heard saying the death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam is being observed today.

The day dawned with ceremonial gun salutes in the federal and provincial capitals, followed by a guard changing ceremony at the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam in Karachi.

In his message, President Dr Arif Alvi emphasised that Quaid-i-Azam was a great benefactor of the nation, whose relentless endeavors resulted in the establishment of a distinct homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

He said the current situation in the country demands that the Father of the Nation’s vision and his guiding principles be followed in letter and spirit to promote unity and democratic values.

Dr Arif Alvi emphasised the need for unity, hope and justice for the promotion of Islamic ideals, moral values, unity and brotherhood.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar said the Quaid’s principles of “unity, faith and discipline” should be the guiding principles for all as a nation.
