In a significant step towards child protection, the Punjab Home Department has launched the first episode of a dedicated animated series aimed at educating children about “Good Touch” and “Bad Touch.” The initiative, rolled out on the special directive of the Chief Minister, is part of a broader awareness campaign focused on safeguarding minors.

The campaign’s central goal is to raise awareness about the serious issue of child sexual abuse and equip children with the knowledge and skills necessary for self-protection.

The series introduces two engaging characters, Haya and Bahadur, who help explain the concepts of personal safety and appropriate versus inappropriate physical contact in an easy-to-understand and appealing manner for young viewers.

The campaign emphasises the importance of reporting any troubling behavior to parents, teachers, or other trusted adults. By promoting early education on this topic, the initiative seeks to prevent abuse and protect children from potential harm.

Parents and educators are also being urged to hold open, age-appropriate conversations with children and teach them how to report abuse, whether it occurs at home or elsewhere.

Earlier, the Home Department formally recommended the integration of “Good Touch, Bad Touch” education into the school curriculum by writing to the School Education Department. The goal is to make child protection a fundamental part of both classroom learning and everyday life.
