Law enforcement agencies carried out targeted operations in Karachi and Rawalpindi, arresting a number of Afghan nationals found living in Pakistan without valid documentation.

According to officials, in Karachi’s South district, joint teams comprising of city police, rangers and the CTD raided areas with known populations of undocumented residents. 

Two Afghan men were taken into custody during the operation. According to the South SSP, the detained individuals will be shifted to a designated transit camp pending further processing under immigration rules.

Moreover, in Rawalpindi, police and other law enforcement agencies conducted operations in the Sadiqabad area. A larger number of Afghan nationals were found residing illegally and were arrested for their breach of Pakistan’s immigration laws. 

Authorities reported that 24 Afghan residents were detained during the raid and will also be transported to holding facilities as part of the government’s intensified verification and deportation efforts.

Pakistani authorities have increased operations against illegal foreign residents across major cities, focusing on verifying legal status and addressing security issues.

However, no immediate statements were released by federal immigration authorities regarding the exact timeline for processing or potential deportation of those arrested.
