The Punjab Traffic Police have decided to introduce AI-equipped vehicles for conducting driving tests, marking a major step toward modernizing the driver licensing system.

The initiative aims to eliminate corruption and ensure complete transparency in the licensing process.

According to traffic authorities, a summary has been sent to the provincial government for the purchase of 32 AI-powered vehicles.

Vehicles will be equipped with sensors, high-resolution cameras, and advanced processors to monitor the entire testing process in real time.

The total cost for 32 vehicles is expected to exceed PKR 160 million, with approximately PKR 600,000 spent on installing the AI system in each vehicle.

Initially, two AI vehicles have been trialed in Lahore, with plans to expand the program to other major cities.

Under the new system, driving test results will be fully automated, making it impossible for unqualified candidates to obtain a license.

The AI vehicles are expected to be fully operational by December.
