Adviser to the Prime Minister, Rana Sanaullah, has firmly dismissed reports suggesting a meeting between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.

Speaking on the Samaa TV program "Mere Sawal with Absar Alam", Sanaullah said such claims were “disrespectful” and baseless, stressing that Nawaz Sharif is a seasoned statesman who would not be involved in such theatrics.

“It is inappropriate to claim that Nawaz Sharif will go to jail and meet Imran Khan,” he remarked.

Reflecting on Pakistan’s broader political landscape, Rana Sanaullah acknowledged the historical challenges but remained optimistic about recent progress.

“The country’s political leadership has always faced complications. But today, both the political leadership and the establishment are aligned in their resolve to end the crisis,” he noted.

He claimed that Pakistan has regained international standing, crediting this to political and institutional coordination. “Within just four days, we have demonstrated our capabilities. Pakistan is now in its strongest position,” Sanaullah stated, referencing the improved civil-military alignment.

He emphasized the importance of seizing this momentum:

“This is a crucial opportunity for the nation to take charge of its own future. Defence must be modernized, the economy strengthened, and those responsible for past crises must be held accountable.”

While recognizing Parliament as the supreme institution, Sanaullah admitted that its strength and authority remain a work in progress. “Our civil institutions must continue respecting Parliament. Although we haven’t yet fully empowered it, we are moving forward,” he said.
