KARACHI: The family of seven-year-old Sarim staged a protest on Wednesday over the authorities' failure to arrest the suspects involved in his abduction and murder.
The demonstration was held outside a residential flats complex.
Holding banners and chanting slogans, the protestors demanded swift action to apprehend the culprits and provide justice for the slain child.
"Sarim must get justice; the killers must be arrested," the crowd repeatedly called out during the demonstration.
Karachi police and investigation teams are awaiting further evidence to identify the culprit in the Sarim murder case, as DNA samples of five suspects currently in custody have been sent to the Karachi University lab for analysis.
According to sources, the investigation team held a meeting with doctors involved in the initial autopsy on the victim and visited the crime scene to gather additional evidence.
Statements from multiple individuals connected to the case have also been recorded.
During the meeting, the team sought expert opinions from the doctors regarding the initial autopsy findings and other critical evidence.
Police officials have stated that significant progress in the investigation is expected once the DNA and chemical examination reports are received.
