A high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow (Thursday) to boost bilateral ties between the two countries.

Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih will reach Pakistan on a two-day visit from October 10 to 11 ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit, set to be held in Islamabad on October 15.

The minister will visit Pakistan, along with his delegation, including construction and engineering companies, financial services, IT, hospitality, agriculture, food, energy, and petroleum ministers, and sign agreements to cooperate in different sectors.

“Top minister will oversee the memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and business-to-business deals,” a private news channel quoted an official as saying.

Khalid Al-Falih will also address a business forum and participate in a talk about Pakistan’s private sector.

On Monday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is set to sign agreements worth $2 billion with longtime friend Saudi Arabia soon.

The announcement indicated the expansion of economic partnerships between Islamabad and the Kingdom.

In his address to the ministers, the Prime Minister highlighted the positive efforts made by the government to secure external financing from China, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, which helped Pakistan secure a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
