Section 144 imposed in Karachi to control cheating in Matriculation exams

The authorities in Karachi have imposed a section 144 around examination centres in an attempt to control cheating in Matriculation exams.
The decision was taken in the meeting of concerned authorities, attended by the Directorate of Private Institutions and Association of Private Schools and Colleges, regarding prevention and planning to control cheating during the exams.
The meeting decided to take strict actions against persons found involved in cheating. The irrelevant persons were barred from entering the examination centres during papers.
A spokesperson of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi said section 144 will be imposed around the centres during the examination.
Meanwhile, the photostat shops and machines will remain closed during the period, however, students will not allowed to come with mobile phones.
In a meeting, Additional Director of Private Institutions, Rafia Javed, directed the schools to give specious facilities to the candidates to maintain a peaceful environment in final exams.
In view of the intensity of the heat, parents were also instructed to send students with water bottles and breakfasts.
The education authorities have arranged as many as 504 exam centres, including 265 for girls and 239 for boys, for 368,000 candidates participating in final exams.
