Pakistan’s security forces thwarted a major infiltration attempt by a group of 'Khawarij' sponsored by India, and killed 30 terrorists during a successful counter-operation along the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR said the movement of a “large group of Khawarij belonging to the Indian proxy network Fitna al-Khawarij” was detected in the Hassan Khel area on the nights of July 1–2 and again on July 2–3, 2025. The group was attempting to illegally cross into Pakistan from Afghanistan.

Acting swiftly, Pakistani security forces engaged the infiltrators and neutralised 30 militants. A huge cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered from the scene.

“The timely response by our vigilant troops averted a potential catastrophe. Their exceptional professionalism, constant alertness, and readiness ensured national security was not compromised,” the ISPR said in its official statement.

The military’s media wing further emphasised that Afghanistan’s current authorities must fulfill their responsibility to prevent the use of Afghan soil by “foreign proxies” for cross-border terrorist activities targeting Pakistan.

“Pakistan’s security forces remain steadfast and resolute in defending the country’s borders and in eliminating the threat of terrorism, particularly those sponsored by hostile foreign powers,” the statement added.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the security forces for eliminating the militants. In his remarks, Prime Minister Shehbaz said, “Our brave armed forces stand as a solid wall in defense of the nation. These operations will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism.”
