The Sindh cabinet on Tuesday approved grants for public transport, purchase of arms and ammunition for police, and production of movies, drams and documentaries for public awarness.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting of the cabinet at the Chief Minister House.

Key approvals include Rs 964.4 million for the purchase and operation of public transport buses under the non-ADP scheme, Rs 1 billion for the production of films, dramas, and documentaries to raise public awareness, and Rs 584 crore for the procurement of weapons and ammunition to strengthen the Sindh police.

Funds were also approved for various sports events, grants to SOS Children’s Village in Tharparkar, establishment of a Project Implementation Unit under the Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority, creation of new positions in recently established colleges, purchase of vehicles for Sindh jails, and support for cultural activities including the 10th Literature Festival.

Additionally, funds were sanctioned for emergency water supply schemes in Malir, construction of an additional ramp at Korangi Causeway, renovation of a government girls’ school in Saddar, and hosting the second Joint Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Asia and Southeast Asia Regional Conference at the Sindh Assembly.

The chief minister instructed all departments to ensure timely utilization of funds while maintaining strict financial discipline and transparency.
