The Sunni Ulema Council of Pakistan has issued a warning that protests will be organized at 60 sites throughout Karachi if the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) demonstration does not conclude within the next 24 hours.

Under the leadership of Allama Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi, the council expressed its support for the decisions made by the Apex Committee and advocated for a decisive operation in Parachinar, located in Kurram Agency. They demanded the disarmament of individuals and the apprehension of criminals without bias.

During a press conference at Jamia Masjid Rahmani in Islamabad, Ludhianvi, alongside Allama Ghazi Aurangzeb Farooqui and other scholars, addressed the media.

The Sunni Ulema Council of Pakistan reiterated its threat to initiate sit-ins at 60 locations in Karachi if the ongoing protests by MWM are not resolved within 24 hours, which could potentially escalate nationwide.

In the press conference, the council called for an inquiry into the origins of the weapons used in the violence, alleging that Iran and India are instigating unrest in Parachinar, where Sunni civilians face attacks, properties and markets are being destroyed, and innocent lives are being lost, with claims of Iranian-manufactured weapons being utilized in these assaults.

The council condemned the ongoing foreign conspiracy aimed at inciting sectarian discord within the country.

Furthermore, the council accused certain factions of exploiting protests to protect criminals and denounced the sit-ins as a facade for illegal activities.

They urged security forces to take stringent measures against those accountable for the violence in Parachinar and the disruptive sit-ins affecting the nation.

The press conference also included representatives from various religious organizations, such as Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and the Barelvi sect.
