Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, delivered a powerful address during an interactive session with students and teachers in Islamabad, where he firmly responded to critics of the Pakistan Army and emphasized the vital role of the youth in shaping the nation's future.
In a direct reference to those who previously questioned the military's role, the DG ISPR asked:
“Where are those now who used to defame the army, alleging it was not doing its job? Ask them today — did the army do its job or not? Shouldn’t they now be held accountable?”
He condemned the rhetoric used by some elements against the armed forces, stating, “Who were you to speak against the officers and soldiers of your own army? The Pakistan Army and the people are inseparable.”
Lt Gen Chaudhry called for national unity against hostile elements, warning of misinformation campaigns and psychological warfare designed to destabilize Pakistan.
“Pakistan is a land of peace, and any victory for Pakistan is essentially a victory for peace,” he declared.
He placed special emphasis on youth empowerment, saying, “This generation will never back down from defending the motherland. The youth are the real ‘iron wall’ of Pakistan.”
Acknowledging the role of educators, the military spokesperson paid tribute to teachers across the country, saluting them on behalf of the Pakistan Army for shaping the future of the nation.
He also accused India of backing terrorism in Pakistan, asserting:
“When the people and the army are united, no terrorist can survive in this country. We must now collectively turn this iron wall towards defeating terrorism.”
Reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding support for the Kashmiri cause, the DG ISPR declared:
Earlier, in an interview with Iranian news agency IRNA, he lauded Iran’s diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the region and called for greater cooperation among brotherly nations to safeguard South Asia's stability. He warned that certain forces, supported by external actors, are working to sow discord and undermine regional unity.
“We must remain vigilant of those who seek to create misunderstandings between friendly nations,” he concluded.
