Pakistanis are likely to get a three-day break for Eid-ul-Adha in 2025, based on the anticipated lunar calendar and public holiday schedule issued earlier by the government.

According to a Cabinet Division circular dated December 23, 2024, Eid-ul-Adha holidays are listed for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday—June 7, 8, and 9, 2025. However, the final dates depend on the official moon sighting announcement closer to the event.

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) earlier projected that the new moon of Zil Hajj would be born on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 8:02 AM (PST). At sunset the same day, the moon will be approximately 11 hours and 34 minutes old—too young to be sighted even under ideal weather conditions.

Due to the expected invisibility of the moon on May 27, the first day of Zil Hajj is likely to be observed on Thursday, May 29.

Consequently, Eid-ul-Adha would most likely fall on Saturday, June 7, aligning with the dates mentioned in the Cabinet Division's holiday list.

The final confirmation will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which is expected to meet next week to determine the beginning of Zil Hajj based on moon sighting reports.
