UAE aviation team expresses satisfaction with security at Karachi, Islamabad airports

Following a four-day-long assessment, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) team of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has declared the security of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) at Karachi and Islamabad airports in line with international standards.
A spokesperson of CAA, a two-member GCAA team led by the Senior Director of Aviation Affairs, Abdullah Al Kaabi, has made a complete inspection, including security and other sections at Jinnah Terminal Airport in Karachi and Islamabad International Airport in the federal capital.
The team also examined passengers' security, screening of their luggage, cargo, catering, flights bound to the UAE, ground handling agents, regulated cargo agents and catering companies.
Alongside access security control and plan security checks, the team also observed the method of airlines and reviewed documents as well.
The host team also expressed satisfaction with Airport management, Airport Security Force (ASF), airlines, cargo companies, and other stakeholders.
A Senior Director of Aviation Affairs Abdullah Al Kaabi said that security protocols were in line with international standards, and "it was the first visit of the UAE aviation team for assessment".
He added the visit was a continuation of visits made by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and British DRF to inspect Pakistan’s airport.
