The deportation of 22-year-old Pakistani-origin Mohammad Azhan from the United Kingdom has been halted, highlighting the impact of his academic achievements on the decision.
According to foreign news agencies, Mohammad Azhan’s record includes incidents such as theft from a shop, bringing a knife to class, and being expelled from school.
Azhan was sentenced to 30 months in prison for involvement in Class A and Class B drug distribution.
He has already served his sentence and subsequently appealed to a British tribunal, which has approved his appeal.
Reports now indicate that his status as a star student in school played a key role in preventing his deportation from the UK.
