Journalist and ex-wife of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Reham Khan, expressed her concerns about the reasons some women may choose not to support PML-N Seniour Vice-President Maryam Nawaz.
She questioned why women might instead favour a man they seemingly have little in common with.
She directed criticism at her ex-husband, Imran Khan, without mentioning him and praised his archrival Maryam Nawaz, now officially nominated by her political party PML-N for the position of Punjab Chief Minister.
Taking to the microblogging site ‘X’, Reham Khan stated, “Unsurprisingly women have been more anti-Maryam Nawaz. They will come out in their dozens to vote for a man who they have nothing in common with and who is a misogynist to the core.”

Khan argued that women should support and admire each other, highlighting Maryam Nawaz's qualities. She acknowledged Nawaz's adherence to family traditions while also commending her for carving her own path.
“But a woman who defiantly chooses her own husband & her own career path despite belonging to a conservative family. A woman who is happily married & is a great mother who is the loving daughter everyone wants to be is a source of irritation to other women? Every woman that steps out makes the world that tiny bit better for all women. Don’t hate a woman you don’t know. And don’t be obsessed by a man you don’t know one bit,” she noted.
Reham Khan advocated for judging Maryam Nawaz based on her capabilities, which might will become evident in the future.
“Let’s see if she can be better than Buzdar,” she concluded.
