Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) on Wednesday predicted that the moon for the month of Zil Hajj is expected to be sighted on June 7 (Friday) in the country.

The Islamic lunar calendar ends with Zil Hajj, the month when Muslims from around the world visit Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj in Makkah's Grand Mosque and other locations in the city including Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah.

Muslims across the globe will celebrate Eid ul Adha on the 10th day of Zil Hajj, after completing all the pillars of pilgrimage.

The day of Eid ul Adha is likely to fall on June 17 in Pakistan, according to the Met office.

However, the final decision will be announced by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Pakistan.

The astronomers in Saudi Arabia said that the Day of Arafat, the ninth day of Hajj, will fall on June 16 in Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom is also expected to mark Eid ul Adha on June 17.
