The first solar eclipse of the year will occur on 17 February, known as the “Ring of Fire” eclipse. During this event, the Moon will partially cover the Sun, leaving its outer edge visible, creating the appearance of a glowing ring.

However, this spectacular annular eclipse will not be visible in Pakistan.

It will be fully observable only from Antarctica, while parts of South America and southern Africa will witness a partial eclipse.

The eclipse is set to begin at 12:01 PM Pakistani time. While the full “Ring of Fire” will be seen solely in Antarctica, partial views will be possible in Chile, Argentina, and certain regions of southern Africa.

An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is positioned between the Sun and Earth, but at its farthest distance from our planet.

This prevents the Moon from fully covering the Sun, creating a ring-like appearance in the sky.

Although the eclipse won’t be visible in Pakistan, astronomy enthusiasts can watch it live via the Time and Date web service.
