Karachi students develop Pakistan's first urban electric car

In a groundbreaking achievement, students of Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) in Karachi have successfully developed the country's first electric car, named 'Azaad'.
The talented team of students, led by Arham Khalil, has designed and built the electric car from scratch, using a combination of iron, plastic, glass, fiber, and special tires for smooth movement.
Azaad can travel up to 200km on a single charge and charges in a remarkably short time, making it an eco-friendly and efficient mode of transportation.
The achievement marks the 17th car developed by the students of PNEC, revealing their exceptional skills and creativity.
At a ceremony held at a local hotel, MD Dockyard Rear Admiral Mazhar Mahmood praised the students' innovative spirit saying, "We have provided a platform for children to showcase their creativity and talent".
Arham Khalil shared that their previous projects, including single-seater racing cars, have received international recognition, with one car winning an award in the Philippines.
The remarkable achievement not only highlights the potential of Pakistani students but also contributes to the country's efforts towards sustainable transportation and innovation.
