Meta expands generative AI tools with Muse Image rollout

Meta Platforms revealed on Tuesday that it is introducing Muse Image, its first image generator developed in the ​​Meta Superintelligence Labs, as part of its efforts to develop generative AI tools across its applications.

According to Meta, its new Muse Image, which has been added to the Meta AI chatbot, is able to interpret complicated instructions, accept photo inputs, and allow editing of images through sketching or annotations.

Meta announced that its Muse Image model would provide more than 30 new AI effects in Instagram Stories, along with image generation via direct messages through Meta AI on WhatsApp, in some selected countries.

Meta is set to offer its Muse Image in additional markets and integrate the technology in Facebook and Messenger applications.

Whereas, basic use of the Muse Image model through Meta AI will continue to be free, other options to create images using the Muse Image model will be offered via Meta's subscription service.

Earlier this month, Meta had launched its Muse Spark, its first text and reasoning AI model developed by the Meta Superintelligence Labs team, which was created last year in order to match with the competition in the AI industry.
