Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb, presided over the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting, where a grant for Pakistan's Satellite System was approved.

The Committee sanctioned a request from the Strategic Plans Division/SUPARCO for Rs4,050.686 million to support the project titled “Pakistan Multi-Mission Communication Satellite System”.

Following the successful launch of iCube Qamar, Pakistan is gearing up to launch the multi-mission communication satellite PakSAT-MM-1 on May 30, in partnership with China.

According to a spokesman from the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), PakSAT-MM-1 will be launched from China's Xichang Satellite Launch Centre.

The spokesperson highlighted that PakSAT-MM1R is a collaborative effort between Suparco and the Chinese Aerospace Industry, aimed at enhancing the country's communication and connectivity infrastructure.

Leveraging advanced communication technologies, PakSAT MM-1 is set to play a crucial role in the socio-economic development of Pakistan and is a significant step towards transforming the country into a Digital Pakistan.

The satellite is anticipated to establish a sophisticated communication network, addressing the growing needs of the telecom sector, and providing advanced capabilities to meet the increasing demand for high-speed internet and seamless connectivity.
