WhatsApp Business has begun rolling out a new feature that allows Android beta users to manage two business accounts on a single device, eliminating the need for a second phone or app cloning software.
The feature is available in WhatsApp Business beta version 2.24.27.5 and is currently being released to a limited number of beta testers through the Google Play Store.
Users can add a second account by opening Settings and tapping the "+" icon displayed next to their existing account. They can then register another phone number using the standard setup process.
According to WABetaInfo, both accounts operate within a single installation of the app, allowing users to switch between profiles through the overflow menu on the Chats tab. The feature currently supports a maximum of two accounts.
Previously, businesses using two phone numbers often relied on a second device or alternative workarounds to manage separate accounts. The new functionality is intended to simplify account management for businesses handling multiple brands or departments.
Notifications for the inactive account will continue to appear, although users must switch to that profile to read and respond to messages.
