In a shocking incident, a man was killed by a 14-year-old boy over a sectarian argument in Gujrat, police said on Monday.

According to the law enforcers, the incident took place at Chak Chohdo village in Kunjah.

Sources said the suspect, identified as Rehan, had a heated debate over a sectarian issue with the victim, Syed Nazeer Hussain Shah.

During the argument, the suspect repeatedly stabbed the victim with the knife, injuring Shah severely.

The victim was rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Sources added that the underage suspect is the son of a prayer leader of a mosque in the village.

A case was registered against Rehan, his uncle and father under sections 302, 34 and 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of Shabeer Hussain Shah, a brother of the deceased.

However, the suspects are still at large and police are conducting raids to arrest the culprits.
