4-year-old boy dies of rabies after stray dog bite in Lahore

A four-year-old boy has died from rabies at Lahore's Mayo Hospital, nearly a month after being bitten by a stray dog, hospital officials said.

The child, identified as Muhammad Yaseen, had been receiving treatment at the hospital since the dog bite. According to doctors, the family told medical staff that the boy had received anti-rabies vaccination following the incident.

Despite treatment, the child's condition deteriorated after developing rabies. Doctors said he was shifted to a ventilator but could not survive.

Hospital officials said this is the second rabies-related death reported at Mayo Hospital in recent days, highlighting ongoing concerns over stray dog attacks and rabies prevention.
