The 21-year-old Pharm-D student, Fatima, was shifted to the hospital after attempting suicide on Monday.
So far, no official update on her health condition has been shared by her family or friends.
A student from Lahore University, speaking to a private news channel, provided details about the possible reasons behind the incident.
The student said that, according to Fatima’s brother, she was not under any pressure from her family and appeared to be fine at home.
However, the student claimed that Fatima was facing difficulties with a teacher, including issues related to the syllabus and attendance, which may have contributed to her distress.
The student further stated that it has not even been 15 days since another classmate, Awais Sultan, died, allegedly due to pressure from the university administration, adding that this is the second such incident at the university.
