Bahawalnagar man arrested for letting friends sexually assault his wife

Bahawalnagar police arrested a man accused of allowing the attempted sexual assault of his wife by inviting his friends to his home.
According to police, the man, reportedly a drug addict, allegedly allowed his friends to abuse his wife. He was arrested after the victim managed to save herself and reported the incident.
In the First Information Report (FIR), the woman stated that her husband had been facilitating the crime by inviting his friends to commit the act.
As per the complain, the accused frequently invited his friends to consume drugs at his home.
On June 27, the victim alleged that her husband, along with three friends, already under the influence of drugs, harassed and attempted to sexually assault her with his full consent.
The woman bravely resisted and screamed loudly, drawing the attention of nearby neighbors who rushed to help.

Police confirmed that the woman's husband and one of his accomplices have been arrested, while investigations are still ongoing.
In a separate incident at Mandi Sadiq Ganj, a teacher at a local seminary was taken into custody for attempting to sexually assault a minor student.
The 13-year-old boy, who had been studying at the seminary to memorise the Holy Quran, disclosed to his parents upon returning home that he had been subjected to abuse and harassment by his teacher.
Disturbed by their son's revelation, the parents reported the matter to the police, leading to the swift arrest of the suspect. Charges have been filed under sections 376 and 511 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Both cases highlight the alarming issues of domestic abuse and child exploitation in the country. According to the reports of the Sustainable Social Development Organisation (SSDO), Pakistan recorded a disturbing 7,608 cases of violence and sexual abuse against children in 2024.
