Husband throws acid on Balochistan policewoman in Karachi

A lady constable of the Balochistan police was critically injured after an alleged acid attack by her husband in Karachi’s Baldia Town on Wednesday, the officials said.
Deputy Inspector General Police (DIG) South Syed Asad Raza said that the suspect, identified as Amin, threw acid on his wife, named Iqra, in the limits of Saeedabad police station.
Police surgeon Summaiya Syed said the victim was shifted to the Burns Centre of the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi,
According to health officials, the victim has acid burn injuries on her face, chest, and other parts of her body.
Syed said that the 30-year-old woman was unable to record a statement as she was burned 33 percent.
DIG South said the suspect brought Iqra to Karachi via Hub and escaped with children after throwing acid at her.
Raza added that Saeedabad DSP, along with other police officers, had visited the spot and recorded the statement of a security guard, who was an eyewitness to the incident.
Police believed that the suspect had fled to Quetta, however, the law enforcers are conducting raids to arrest the culprit.
