PESHAWAR: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Wednesday stated that his party was not in any dialogue with the government for the time being and things were no further than the offer of dialogue.

Talking to journalists at PHC grounds, Gohar said, “It is now incumbent upon those with power to respond to the offer of PTI.”

He further said that the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, had shown magnanimity by shaking hand with the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and offered dialogue to the government.

“If anybody thinks that this offer is weakness of our party, then they are wrong,” he said.

The PTI chairman stated that the party would take decision about upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in the next two days, adding that the party had not taken any such decision to boycott the polls.

He said that the notification which was doing rounds in social media about PTI boycott in the elections was “fake”.

He talked about the differences in PTI in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and said that the party had no intentions to remove Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, adding that he “is not going anywhere.”

The PTI chairman added that the party leadership had called the disgruntled MPAs for a meeting in the coming days and was closely monitoring the situation in the province.

“Give reconciliation a chance,” he said, adding that if the people of AJK were protesting over their grievances, that protest should remain peaceful.
