The bodies of both young men who drowned in the sea at Gadani yesterday have been recovered.

According to rescue officials, the body of one of the victims was retrieved yesterday, while the second body was recovered today during an ongoing search operation.

Authorities stated that the deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Hammad and 17-year-old Mohsin.

The bodies have been shifted to a nearby hospital to complete legal formalities.

Last year, two picnickers, a man and his son, were swept away by high tides at Gadani beach, police and rescuers said.

Kareem Shah, a resident of Karachi, and his 10-year-old son Obaid Shah had gone to a picnic at a beach near the ship-breaking yard. While swimming, the boy went into deep sea and drowned, prompting his father to jump into sea to rescue him.

However, his efforts failed as he and his son were overwhelmed by strong waves and lost their lives.

Edhi Foundation volunteers retrieved the bodies and transported them to RHC Sheikhabad. After completing legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the family.
