Delivery rider of Foodpanda service shot dead in Karachi

A bike rider of an online food-delivery service, Foodpanda, was shot dead on University Road in Karachi, police said on Thursday.

According to the rescue official, the incident happened at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 4 area of the metropolis, which lies in the jurisdiction of Mobina Town Police Station.

SP Karachi East Farhat Kamal said the victim, identified as Waqas Hanif, was riding a motorbike when armed pillion riders fired at him from behind on University road.

Rescue officials said that a bullet pierced through the helmet and hit him in the head.

He fell on the road and was taken to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, they added.

Top district cop said the killers did not take away anything from the victim, however, police were investigating the motive of the murder.
